The WSET® exists to promote, provide and develop high quality education and training in wines, spirits and other alcoholic beverages for those already in or intending to join the trade, and enthusiastic consumers throughout the world. Over 11,000 candidates, in 24 countries and 4 languages, sat WSET®'s exams in 2002.
There are 3 strands to our activities:
• Qualifications
It is the responsibility of our operating division, WSET® Awards, to develop learning outcomes and set examinations leading to a number of qualifications in Wine & Spirit Education.
• Education Partners
Through WSET Awards we oversee the appointment, administration and support of an extensive network of third party teaching and examination centres around the world, the WSET Approved Programme Providers and the WSET Recommended Tutor Scheme.
• Delivery of courses at WSET® School
The WSET School, based at our London headquarters, is the flagship in terms of course delivery.
