5,000,000 m2 of the most historical vineyards of our country are spread out amphitheatrically over the west side of Sithonia in Halkidiki. The undulating spread of the estate creates excellent ecological conditions for the cultivation of select varieties of grapes, such as the Assyrtico, the Athiri, the Malagouzia, Roditis, the famous Greek Limnio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Syrah. The Domaine Porto Carras began operating at the beginning of sixties. The wines bear the much desired title of: Appellation d' Origine de Qualite Superieur, Plaghies Melitona (Meliton Slopes). The Plaghies Melitona vineyard constritutes an example of organic vineyard cultivation today. Since, 2000, the entire complex has been owned by the Technical Olympic Group of Companies, which has been intervening dynamically to achieve its modernization and reorganization.
