Situated in the picturesque Hemel en Aarde, La VIerge wines produce premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from this cool climate region. The company is privately owned and have been producing wine over the past 11 years. Our first vines were planted in 2002 in some of the oldest virgin soils on Babylon Farm situated in the Hemel en Aarde Ridge ward, with cool temperatures, high rainfall and cool breezes from the Atlantic Ocean our vineyard is dryland farmed. We are one of the only farms in the area that does not make use of irrigation, meaning that our yields are lower with more concentrated flavours. Today we have a total of 43.5 Ha under vine, one of the more sizeable farms in the Hemel en Aarde Valley. Our annual production are around 100 000 bottles by using only about half the grapes produced on our farm. Our range includes 4 different styled Pinot Noirs Chardonnay Sauvignon Blanc Shiraz Sangiovese Bordeaux style blend.
