The history of the Castan Distillery starts in 1941. From that day on and for many years, the Castan family has been taking a mobile still to all the villages of the Tarn and Aveyron. Gilbert, who started this activity,transmitted his know how to his son and grandson Sebastien, the current distiller.. Sebastien decided to build a fruit and whiskey distillery in 2007. The first whiskey was distilled in February 2010 and is the first distillery in Occitania,the Vilanova Castan Whiskies are limited editions with unique characteristics. Sebastien Castan has left his brandy production to devote himself to master blender of our Whiskey. The result is a copper colored liquid with aromas of spice, almond, cocoa and hazelnut.
