‘Il Saraceno’ is a small family holding involved in the production of organic red wine (without sulfites), organic extra-virgin olive oil and organic hazelnuts.
The vineyard is located at 400 m above the sea level in a hilly and fertile terroir, looking over the saracenic coast in Sicily, and benefits from an ideal exposure for the vine cultivation. The vineyard contains two native grape variety, ‘Nocera’ and ‘Nero d’Avola’, which were used already to produce great wines already at the time of the Roman empire. The wine we make is free from the addition of any chemicals or products of animal origin. A meticulous care of the wine-making process allows us to yield a high quality wine that does not need the addition of any sulfites. Our wine is obtained exclusively from grapes produced in our vineyard, enabling us full control over the entire process. Our wine is well balanced and indissolubly represents a terroir rich of history and aromas.
