Overlooking the exceptional site of the Canal du Midi (UNESCO), the Château de Paraza represents the guardian of an ancestral wine-growing tradition.
Its history is closely linked to the history of France, and more particularly to that of the Languedoc region, with a very rich past and vestiges dating back to the Roman occupation.
Under Louis XIV, the castle of PARAZA served as the home of the engineer Pierre Paul Riquet during part of the construction of the canal connecting the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, then called Canal du Roy.
