Family owned for 500 years. The conversion process to Organic Agriculture was initiated in 1999. A healthy fruit is a necessary prerequisite, but at Grand Francais it is not considered enough to make a great wine. The strict criteria for preserving the soul of Chateau Grand Francais are elegance combined with impeccable quality. It is because we like to feel life in a wine, that we make it naturally. Grown on the hillsides of the valley of the Isle where the vines have existed for more than 500 years, the vineyard of Chateau Grand Francais is located in the northern part of Saint Emilion. The grape varieties found at Grand Français are Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Cabernet Franc (25%) and Black Merlot (45%). We practice a short pruning in double guyots in order to obtain a homogeneous fruit distribution.All our wines have international recognition ( awards, tasting notes) We mainly export to; USA, Finland, Austria, Norway, Switzerland and more.
