The Sudvinbio inter- professional association was created in 1991 on the initiative of winegrowers practicing this form of agriculture, in order to collectively promote their wines. Formerly called the Interprofessional Association of Organic Wines of Languedoc-Roussillon (AIVB-LR) , the association was renamed Sudvinbio in 2012. Sudvinbio is today recognized by all professionals and public authorities as an active and dynamic association which has largely contributed to the notoriety of organic wines from Languedoc-Roussillon and elsewhere, through its various activities.
