Founded in Miyagi, Japan in 1789, the Tanaka Sake Brewery celebrates this year its 231st anniversary of crafting some of the worlds finest sake. For more than two centuries, Tanaka has been producing hand-crafted sake. Their award-winning sakes are crafted using ancestral and natural methods (kimoto and yamahai), with the highest quality rice and the best koji, for a bold, complex and rich sake.
In 2017, a revolutionary new line of blended sakes Tanaka 1789 x Chartier has been developed and handcrafted at the brewery in partnership with Francois Chartier, worlds best sommelier (Paris 1994) and creator of Molecular Harmonies an aromatic science based on the potential for aromatic synergy between foods, wines and different beverages like sake. BLEND 001 2018, our second vintage of this special blended sake is now available for sale.
