We are a small family owned distillery based in Norfolk, England. We began distilling in 2006 making us the oldest whisky distillery in England and we are widely regarded as the original pioneers of the English Whisky renascence. Everything from milling the grain to hand bottling is carried out on site, using locally grown barley and water drawn from the Brecklands aquifer that runs deep beneath the distillery. The distillery was born out of the passion of one man, James Nelstrop a local farmer and whisky lover. The Nelstrop family has over 600 years of heritage in farming and milling were a lot of their produce ended up in Scotland for use in the whisky industry. James always dreamt of build a distillery and bring back whisky making to England, upon retiring he decided to fulfill this dream and started building St Georges Distillery back in 2005. Since starting we have received many awards and accolade.
