We are winery in Douro Portugal and we produce fortified and table wines. The origins of Favaios are remote. It is believed that the etymology comes from Flavius, the name of the settlement that belonged to Terra de Panoias. The Adega Cooperativa de Favaios, in the Demarcated Region of the Douro, was founded in 1952 and has become one of the largest and most recognized cooperatives of the country due to the distinct quality of the Favaios Moscatel.Favaios is synonymous with Moscatel, a liqueur of the Douro Region, highly appreciated for its sweetness and aromas. The wine enabled the development of the village and it had a great impact in the local economy and architecture.
