We are a family of scientists devoted to the natural phenomena that create Maori Point wines, in Central Otago, New Zealand. Our vineyard is a place of extremes - with free-draining glacial soils, diurnal temperature variation, ultraviolet intensity in the sunlight - that enhance concentration and transparency in our wines. We follow organic principles then proceed further, maintaining the soil and indigenous microflora by making our own compost and planting native vegetation. We make our wines on-site, using small fermentations by native yeasts, worked by hand and exposed to ambient temperatures, to articulate different facets of vineyard and vintage. We use minimal sulfites and do not fine or filter our Pinot Noir. In addition to Pinot Noir, we make sparkling wine, Pinot Gris, Rose, and late harvest wine. We sell our wine in New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and USA.
