Since 1997 in Zwoenitz, a placid little town in the middle of the Erzgebirge, will be brewed beer again. After 75 years of abstinence the old hand-crafted tradition of beer brewing has been revitalized there again. Dominik Naumann, the young owner and brew master of the Zwoenitz brewery, took over the family business from his father in 2011, and since then he made it his business to combine the long brewing tradition of his Saxon homeland with the eagerness to experiment of a contemporary craft brewer. Apart from classic beer styles like Pilsener, German-Style Schwarzbier or Bockbier Naumann brews in his copper kettle a range of different innovative craft beers that in the meantime also have generated nationwide acceptance.
One of his creations, the Zwoenitzer Rauchbier, in 2015 was rewarded with a gold medal by an expert panel at Meiningers International Craft Beer Award. Also the bestseller of the Zwoenitz portfolio scored successfully at this prestigious tasting conte.
