The Santa Cruz Mountains has been recognized as a premium wine producing region since the late 1800's. Many of the forty-eight wineries of the area are small, family run businesses that specialize in the quality as opposed to the quantity of their wine. The winegrowers association puts on several events every year; Passport Program, Wine with Heart, and Vintner's Festival to name a few.
