La Castille is a very old wine estate existing since 1566, situated in the sunny South East of France, halfway between Marseille and Saint Tropez.
Bequeathed by the family Aubert to the Church in 1922, it is the property of the diocese of Frejus Toulon through a Foundation, and combines the professional savoir-faire of vine and wine with the missions of its religious and cultural activities : Seminary, conference center, accommodation, catering. The vineyard consists in 160ha of limestone and granite soils, both typical of the Provence region, with a great biodiversity : 24 different grape varietals surround a castle built in 1730.The winery produces annualy ca. 11000 hl wine (AOP Cotes de Provence, IGP Vin de Pays du Var, rosa, red and white, and was often awarded in different prestigious contests ex. 2017 Rose Gold Medal in Macon.
50% of the production is sold directly at the estate, 20% locally. Our aim is to develop our export market.
