When St. George's Distillery opened in 2006, it became the first new English Whisky distillery for 100 years. Purpose-built, using high quality traditional equipment, the English Whisky Company focuses on malt whisky. It is building a fine reputation for quality and offering interesting and very drinkable whiskies. The company's Chapter 14 whisky has been awarded the accolade of European Whisky of the Year for second time in 2017. In 2016, Chapter 16 (peated whisky matured in a sherry cask) received the same accolade adding to the 2015 success of Chapter 14 - an exceptional and unprecedented triple success for one company. Additionally we offer rare, collectors whiskies from our Founders Private Cellar which are limited editions of very special whiskies.
Our Master Distiller, David Fitt, was nominated Distillery Manager of the Year in the 2016 Icons of Whisky Awards. Further testament to the excellence of The English Whisky company products.
