The Jonqueres d'Oriola family has been producing since 1485 excellent quality wines in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains bordering the Mediterranean Sea. There has always been a tradition of winemaking here, using traditional methods. Today we have adapted our production using updated technology and rigorous quality selection and natural agricultural methods carefully respecting the environment. The 150 acre estate is located 4 kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea and benefits from high exposition to the sun (very good for the maturity of the grapes), and 6 kilometers from the Pyrenees Mountains which is excellent for the balance of the wines (the fresh nights give a smooth acidity and fix the aromas). The Terroir is unique. It is a stoney- clayey soil Quaternary Terrasses, giving the best maturity of the main components of wine tannins, color, aromas due to the reflection of the sun on the stones, directly on the fruit.
