BODEGAS MEDINA, a family company from the very beginning was founded in 1931. Its founder, the great-grandfather José Montao always demonstrated to have a special ability for the elaboration of traditional wines. The activities took place in a small factory located in Puebla de Sancho Pérez a small village of Extremadura Region. An unfortunate accident changed the course of the History and a new generation started to work in the winery, the grandparents Antonio Medina and Esperanza Montao. The business is increasing favourably for the family, being towards 1975 when it is decided to extend the company investing in an important vineyards plantation of the Cabernet Sauvignon variety and acquiring a new cellar, BODEGA DEL CONVENTO, located in the wonderful town of Zafra. Its members tenacity and laboriousness allow BODEGAS MEDINA to become in one of the few wineries of Extremadura which since then elaborates, ages, and bottles high quality wine
