We are a new vineyard north of Heathcote along the Mt Camel Range. (just up the way from Ellis Wines, Whistling Eagle and Chalmers Vineyard if you're familiar with the region).
After six years since planting we are finally proud to release our wines for sale.
These being:
2014 Carmenere
2015 Grenache Rose
All wines are made locally at Mount Burrumboot Estate by Cathy Branson. Cathy uses minimal interference in her wine making using only natural yeasts present in the winery. Our reds lay about in french oak for about 14 months in a 33% new & 66% 3 year old mix of barrels.
Our Rose has been reviewed by Patrick Eckel as having a lovely salmon hue with touches of citrus to strawberry and a very dry finish.
Dan Traucki commented Humis Carmenere has a gorgeous bright red colour, subtle aromas and smooth silky flavours that remind one of a really classy Merlot.
We are looking forward to releasing our 2015 Shiraz and 2015 Carmenere in February 2016.
We currently distribute our products locally and along the east coast of Australia - as our business grows and the interest grows in Heathcote wine we look forward to increasing the reach of Humis Vineyard wines.
