At the Kopaonik Mountains, the least developed region around the city of Prokuplje, there are currently 80 hectares of vineyards. 300 hectares of this horticulture is the planned goal to be reached in a couple years by the company Toplicki Vinogradi, which owns some 9000 kvma and uses the most modern technologies. The company is as if Spain in the heart of Serbia.
Toplicki Vinogradi is a young winery house, which cultivates various types of grapes; white grapes are Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Red grapes are represented by Prokupac, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Burgundac (Pinot Noir).
Specialty of this region worth mentioning is Grapes of Prokupac, the autochthonous grape variety typical for southern Serbia and of immense importance for history of Prokuplje Region. Prokupac was the dominant horticulture of this region and Toplicki Vinogradi remakes its old glory and glamour.
