Uggiano was founded in the early 70’s in the Castle of Montespertoli by Frenchschool enologist Dr. Giuseppe Losapio. The vineyards spread over rolling hillsides at an altitude
of 250 to 300 meters. In 1976 the cellars were enlarged and relocated to San Vincenzo a Torri. Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG, with Chianti Riserva DOCG “The Pheasantâ€, the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon based Supertuscans represent the highest expression of Uggiano’s winemaking tradition as well as being the symbols of its success. A large and impressive ageing cellar houses 3000-6000 Lt. traditional oak casks for the ageing of the wines along with 225 Lt. French oak barrels where Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah are aged for long periods in order to enhance their aromatic characteristics.Reviews and ratings in the major guides and wine-magazines as well as the copious international recognition in terms of prizes and awards are the natural consequence of our policy of quality.
