In the summer 2013 Appellation Ventures, LLC was formed to purchase ESSER VINEYARDS of Monterey County, California. A well-seasoned team with an average of 30+ years of experience in production, marketing and sales came together to create excitement for the domestic and international markets. Our wines are 100% Monterey County AV and are produced exclusively from sustainably farmed grapes. The whites are picked with the desired full flavor profile and crisp acidity influenced by the cool evening breezes of the Pacific. The reds are carefully monitored during the harvest to ensure the desired flavor profile and ripe tannin structure. The fruit is picked during the night or early morning in order to process cold fruit, ensuring the highest of quality at the crush pad and beyond. The WINE ENTHUSIAST listed 4 out of 5 wines as a Best Buy rating as well as ranked the Chardonnay as #3 of the Top 100 Wines of 2015.
