Vignoble Miltonia was founded in 2008 by two passionate winemakers, Yves Beaudin and Isabelle Degongre. With a prime geological location and soil particularly well suited for vine growth, fallow agricultural land was purchased in 2007. Located on a slight slope, on the western side of a hill, the sun rays shine on the vine rows (oriented north-south) throughout the day. The lands sandy loam soil is very rocky, hereby allowing the red shale rocks to absorb heat and transfer it to the vine crops at the end of the day. Following the preparation of the soil for planting, the first Vidal and Seyval grapevines were planted in spring 2008. Today, the vineyard counts a total of 5000 crops. White grape varieties such as Vidal, Seyval and Frontenac (grey), as well as red varieties such as Frontenac, Marquette and St-Croix are grown. All operations are conducted by the owners, as well as their family and friends who have lent their strong hands in the establishment of the vineyard and winery.
