Murray Street Vineyards was established in 2001 by Andrew and Vanessa Seppelt and Bill and Pattie Jahnke, who shared a vision for the establishment of a unique artisan winery that would honour the Barossa’s rich winemaking heritage. Andrew is a direct descendent of Joseph Seppelt who established Seppeltsfield Winery. Joseph’s son
Benno and his wife Sophia were instrumental in further developing the winery and the Western Barossa Valley’s winegrowing heritage.
The 37 hectare Gomersal Vineyard was planted in the first year and is now a thriving ultra-premium vineyard in the Gomersal-Seppeltsfield sub region. The winery site is home to the Greenock vineyard, which has original plantings dating to 1948 and newer plantings in 1998 prior to acquisition.
