The land of Franciacorta got its calcareous and dry soil as a precious inheritance from the Ice age glaciers eroding. People from Gaul, Etruscans, and Romans knew it and in the few moments of relax between the many wars they busily fought, made wine here, to cheer up their army. We are still making wine from this fantastic land, but the technical knowledge at our disposition is well changed.
