Current custodian Geoff Johnston, grandson of Alexander Johnston, successfully poineered the Bordeaux variety Petit Verdot and the Southern French grape Tannat to the McLaren Vale region.
Stop press: November 16th 2011, London: At the worlds most prestigious wine show the International Wine and Spirit Competition, the 2007 Pirramimma ACJ was awarded the ''Worlds Best Red Blend''. The wine, a unique barrel select blend of Shiraz, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon competed against wines across the globe, with this iconic event attracting over 6,300 entries.
