The Maurer estate is in EICHHOFFEN in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards. It is close to Mont Sainte Odile and about halfway between Colmar and Strasbourg. Early records mention the village as belonging to the Abbey of Altorf and reference is made to the tending of vines by the soil on the hill which later became the Moenchberg Grand Cru.. Our dozen hectares of vineyards, situated on the east side of the hills below the Vosges, strike a balance between young and old vines. As each kind of vine to the place where it grows and the microclimate to be found there. As winegrowers who also own the land we cultivate, we are skilled in the whole wine - making process, looking after the vines, harvesting the grapes, vinification, bottling ... ... It is thanks to this know_how that our wines are such a remarkable creation, very diferent from more banal, characterless productions. We pay particular attention to the process of vinification ant to the work in the wine cellar.
