MAN Vintners was established 10 years ago – it is a partnership between José Conde and Tyrrel Myburgh, both winemakers with fine wine backgrounds, and Philip Myburgh, Tyrrel’s brother.
The name MAN is taken from their wives’ initials: Marie, Anette and Nicky.
We have always been focussed strongly on value. We don''t make entry level wines, but we do try to always have a very strong quality to price ratio. One difference is that we don''t buy in wine or grapes from all over the Western Cape, but rather focus on one distinct area, the Perdeberg or Agter-Paarl region. The area is characterized by mainly shale soils and low-yielding vineyards, many bush-vine and un-irrigated. Our farmers have the largest collection of old-vine Chenin Blanc vineyards in the country.
