Background Information on Anakena
Anakena is located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains in the Alto Cachapoal Valley of Chile, about 100km south of Santiago.
Founded by two school friends with a passion for wine, Felipe Ibáñez and Jorge Gutiérrez, the first vineyards were planted in the Cachapoal valley in 1999, and already the resulting wines are exported to 38 counties.
The company recognises the importance of soil and climate and is committed to seeking out exceptional terroirs in which to make extraordinary wine. Anakena is also committed to protecting the environment and promotes integrated farming methods and sustainable production.
