The Korta companies started to rise in the year 1948 when Joseph started Curtidos Korta. From that time, the company evolved to the point of becoming one of the most important businesses connected to the industry in Chile. By 1989, the Korta family, led by Francisco Korta, creates a new business called Fruits of Curicó, 100% focused in fruit production. In 1997, the Korta companies embarked on one of the most ambitious and challenging chapters: The beginning of Korta Winery and Vineyards. The vineyard is located 200km south of Santiago (the capital of Chile), in the parallel 35° South.
