Blending specialist, Ian Naudé makes wines with the sole purpose of combining the diversity of style from the different South African winegrowing areas, to create wines which reflect the totality and uniqueness SA wine regions can offer. Ian believes that a wine should primarily reflect the best of nature’s contribution (terroir, vintage and cultivar), and that human intervention should only be in the form of combining these elements in the most harmonious and expressive way in order to serve the wine. SA climate and diversity of terroir place us in the unique position of having both New and Old world style potential. At Adoro, Ian combines the best contributors of both, to allow the wines to present the total potential. Operating as an independent producer from a small cellar outside Stellenbosch, provides Ian with the freedom to select only the highest quality grapes from whichever winegrowing area and cultivar would best contribute to this purpose.
