Two wineries belong to the group: "Bodegas Marcelino Diaz", was the pioneer to bottle in DO Ribera del Guadiana and got to maintain the DO Cava in Extremadura. His wines and Cavas remain the benchmark in terms of producing quality wines. "Without Marcelino, Extremadura would not have had its current reputation among wine lovers" (Win Vanleuven. "Monuments of Spanish wine"). The wines of Extramadura are considered the new Californian Spanish wines.
