Donatella Cinelli Colombini belongs to one of the oldest families producing wines in Montalcino. She now owns 2 estates in Montalcino and Trequanda in Tuscany. In Montalcino there are 18 ha of vineyard, the winery is called Casato Prime Donne.The other estate, Fattoria del Colle in Trequanda is in the Chianti and DOC Orcia area. The wine makers are all female, this is revolutionary for Italy, to prove that women can compete in the highest levels of oenology. She runs the wineries since 1998 changing them radically, conjugating technology and tradition: for example the salvaging of the autochthonous Sienese rootstock Foglia Tonda. Donatella has created in those wineries a new line of high prestige products. In Trequanda, she produces Chianti Superiore DOCG, Cenerentola DOC Orcia, two IGT Toscana Rosso, IGT Toscana White, IGT Toscana Rosè, Vin Santo and extra virgin olive oil. In Montalcino she produces Rosso and Brunello.Wine Maker: Carlo Ferrini. Production: 180.000 bottles per year
