Sociedade Agrícola Quinta da Ribeirinha is a family company based on Póvoa de Santarém, a typical village of Ribatejo. The family owns three properties, “Quinta da Ribeirinha”, “Terra da Vinha” and “Vale de Lobos” totalizing about 95 hectares of farmed land, from which 40 hectares are occupied with vineyards. The interest for the wine industry has been transmitted for several generations, resulting in an accumulation of knowledge and an increase on the development of the oenological practices, allowing the conjugation of the traditional methods of vinification with the new technologies, maintaining the typical grape varieties and wines from the region. The dry Mediterranean climate, the calcareous clay soils and the southward facing of the vineyards, are important factors in the grape development. The careful selection of the grape varieties cultivated on this terroir is a guarantee of unique wines. The harvest is hand-made, allowing the accurate selection of the grapes.
