The CANTINA SOCIALE COOPERATIVA of San Severo was born on the 5th of October 1933 with a small number of local wine-growers and soon earned one of the first places in the local economy. Nowadays there are more than five hundred members. The Cantina Sociale Cooperativa is able to respect and exploit the typical local production. To let the consumers be sure about its products, the Cantina Sociale obtained the Quality System UNI EN ISO 9001:2000. The firm expands on 12.000 mq. It can receive, produce, bottle and commercialise 18.000.000 kg of grapes. 4.000.000 of these grapes are D.O.C. and 4.000.000 grapes are I.G.T. It produces and commercialises white, rose and red D.O.C. San Severo wine, I.T.G. wine and table wine marked “L’Antica Cantina”.At moment it bottles and sells more than 3.000.000 litres of wine.
