Way back in the 50´s, Willy Skjold Burne learned the Danes to drink wine. The big break through was Monopol den med tyren (Monopoly The one with the bull).
In 1984, Taster Wine A/S bought the company A/S Skjold Burne. Through concept building of the chain assortment, services and knowledge of wine, the Skjold Burne chain today is the largest and oldest chain of specialized wine and spirits merchants in Denmark, with more than 80 shops.
The Skjold Burne chain has been developing over the last years. The chain has been able to increase both its turnover and the number of shops over the years.
