El Coto de Rioja is the leading Rioja wine producer, with the Nr one world Rioja red El Coto, the Coto de Imaz reserva and gran Reserva range. Placed in the northern Rioja Alavesa sub district, El Coto de Rioja has created a style of soft, fruity, balanced and easy to drink red wines.It is located in Oyón (Álava), with a total surface of 110.000 m2, more than 50.000 of which are occupied by buildings. Our vineyards are located in Cenicero (Rioja Alta), close to the Najerilla river (a tributary to the Ebro river), facing Northwest and with a, predominantly, ferric-clayey soil. The rest of the grapes come from selected winegrowers in Rioja Alavesa. All the grapes are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. We currently elaborate 23 millions of kg of grapes approximately.
