Liquor:In 1970, Suntory signed an agreement with Brown-Forman Corporation, the leading whisky maker of the United States, and started to import their products to Japan. In 1988, Suntory formed a joint venture with Allied Domecq PLC, a leading liquor and food conglomerate of the world, and started joint businesses on a global and long-term basis. Today Suntory has some 40 overseas affiliations to import and distribute over 70 distinguished brands of whisky, spirit, and liqueurs. Wine:Suntory now offers over 1,500 brands from 13 countries, from the world's highest grade wines of CHÂTEAU LAFITE-ROTHSCHILD and ROMANÉE-CONTI to the No.1 table wines of the 4 major wine producing countries, i.e., Vieux Papes and Cambras by CASTEL of France, FRANZIA of the U.S., TAVERNELLO of Italy, and ELEGIDO of Spain.
