St Leonards Vineyard, is located on the north-eastern outskirts of Wahgunyah in the Rutherglen wine region in North East Victoria, Australia. It was first planted with vines in 1860 by James Scott who named it after his birthplace in Scotland. The vineyards and cellars overlook a tranquil lagoon near a bend on the Murray River. This area is renowned for rich red wines and incredible fortified wines. The ability to produce consistently world class fortifieds results from the long dry autumn [fall] which we experience annually. St Leonard’s in particular, has for many years developed recognition for exceptional white wines, both dry and late harvest. This wide range is part of the Australian tradition and a constant interest of our wine club members.
