Clairault has been producing premium wines since 1976 and was the sixth property in Margaret River to be planted with grapes. Located in the Willyabrup sub-region, Clairault has the highest elevation of the surrounding area. Will Shields joined as Chief Winemaker in 2003. His focus is on the acclaimed Clairault Estate and Clairault Ranges. Brian Martin (son) is Vineyard Manager and introduced ERA farming practices in 2005. ERA stands for Environmentally Responsible Agriculture and focusses heavily on bio-dynamics and organics. Bill and Ena Martin (owners) are very much involved in the evolution of the business and day to day runnings. Margaret River is best suited to Bordeaux varietals. Clairault has two ranges of wine.
