Located in the D.O.P Jumilla region, Spain. Made its existence known in the late 19th century, was established by D. Asensio Carcelen. Later, his son, D. Juan Carcelen, brought a substantial economic as well as industrial expansion to the business by introducing bottled wines. Subsequently, his successor D. Asensio Carcelen, made it one of the famous winemaking companies worldwide. Today, the fourth generation of the Carcelen family handles the winery under the ownership of Juan Carcelen. Owning a total area of 300 hectares, the owner grows three main varieties of wines, Monastrell being the queen of the vineyards, fruity Syrah and Garnacha Tinta. The harvest is done manually, and selective bunches are moved to the renovated wine cellar for fermentation in stainless steel tanks.In 2006, to increase productivity and quality, was relocated near the vine rows. Introducing new technology and quality control measures, respecting the family tradition, Mother Nature, and biodiversity.
