WINERY SCHLOSS HALBTURN. Since the restructuring in 2001 the winery of Schloss Halbturn has set a new course and is opening a new and exciting chapter in Austrian and international wine history. Mediocre vineyards were removed in a drastic manner and replanted, biodynamic principles were introduced in cultivation and a young and international team has been employed. Among the high-tech oenologic equipment utilised in Halbturn, a sorting system is used, which can only be found at the best wineries of the world. The new team at Schloss Halbturn attaches particular importance to grape selection. Up to 20 employees stand at two conveyor belts and sort grape for grape – of course by hand. Only the finest specimen reach the press in the end, which also belongs to the most intricate presses which are available on the market. All these endeavours and the indispensable will of the entire team has led to quality which has already found considerable admiration.
