ZANTHO - fine.wines.burgenland - Star vintner Josef Umathum from Frauenkirchen and Wolfgang Peck from Winzerkeller Andau joined forces and created a new wine brand in Burgenland. The project can also be seen as a perfect coalition of know-how, up-to-date equipment and optimal natural conditions. Zantho, the first documentary mention of the small village Andau in 1488, serves also as brandname for the wines. The production focuses on classic red wines from indigenous grape varieties and is completed with a selection of white and sweet wines: Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Blaufränkisch as well as a barrique-finished blend of regional grapes represent the reds and a crispy-fresh Grüner Veltliner as well as a light and spicy Muskat Ottonel round up the portfolio. According to the vintage even a sweet ZANTHO is being produced - from a creamy-sweet Beerenauslese to a noble Icewine.
