Domaine Grier is a boutique winery in the Roussillon region of the South of France with New Wold owners from Villiera Wines South Africa.
Firstly, different quality levels had to be identified resulting in different price points.
Secondly, some of the wines had to be marketed under their varietal names and others under the regional appellation. The varietal wines are more fruit driven and the regional wines express the “Terroir”.
This dual approach has resulted in a range of seven wines that is divided between Vin de Pays and Côtes du Roussillon.
The Vin de Pays range consists of four wines that are more modern in style and they are identified by a more modern label that highlights the varieties.
The Côtes du Roussillon range is more classic in style and emphasizes the Terroir. The labels reflect a more traditional approach and highlight aspects of the region that are considered important.
