UCCOAR created in 1976 by some of the largest cooperative wineries in France, represents over 1 500 member growers with 10 000 hectares of vineyards in the Languedoc-Roussillon area. with a volume of 120 millions litres in 2005, is one of the five largest wine producers in France.
More than half of the sales are made in 'vin de Pays'(60% in department wine and Varietal wines), 25% in 'vin de table', 10% in appellation wines and 5% in special products such as de-alcoholised wine.
Since 1980, a subsidiary compagny created near Bordeaux, in Barsac: SAS Les 2 Mers is producing Bordeaux wines.
With its experience as a negociant, and winemaker, UCCOAR selects, prepares and bottles wines coming from its members, but also from other French and European wine growers.
UCCOAR is involved in wine production right from the vineyard to the bottling operations.
It reflects all flavours and richness the Languedoc-Roussillon has to offer.
