In 1942, Chris Carlos welcomed Al Davis as an equal partner in the Dixie Wine Company, a business Carlos had founded in 1935. Today, that partnership has blossomed into National Distributing Company (NDC), the fourth largest alcoholic beverage distributor in the U.S.

Growth has come through both internal strategy and acquisitions, which began in Florida in 1947.
