The Los Angeles Chapter of the AWS was founded in July 2002 as an inclusive group, open to all levels of wine expertise and experience. In its short life so far, AWS-LA has organized theme wine tastings, wine dinners at restaurants with winemakers, casual wine dinner potlucks at members’ homes, blind tastings, visits to wineries, and a memorable anniversary dinner event at Napa’s French Laundry restaurant. AWS-LA has also arranged for special waivers and discounts on corkage fees at upscale L.A.-area restaurants for AWS-LA members.
