Vinos del Sur S.A. owns three vineyards in Chile. The southernmost vineyards are close to the Itata river,with 60 hectares (148 acres) of sloping land, mainly for Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay. The wines are produced using the system known as “Lyre”.
A few kilometres to the north-east is a second vineyard on the banks of the Larqui river which 60 hectares (148 acres) of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet franc and Syrah. The wines have been planted on sloping ground using both the “Lyre” and “Trellis” systems. To the north, in the Maule valley, Vinos del Sur has another 390 hectares (964 acres) vineyard, planted in the traditional trellis system, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and other grapes varieties.
Total vineyard planted 510 hectares (1,260 acres). The company have to wineries located one in each valley with total capacity of 4 million liters (1.06 million gallons), and 1.000 French oak chateau barrels.
