Fina Estampa tequila originates
from the highlands of Jalisco just outside
the small town of Atotonilco, Mexico, where
agave is grown and harvested daily. Fina Estampa
tequila was created by one of the owners of
Un Tequila Artesanal, who are large landowners
of agave, and still supply many well-know
tequila manufactures in Mexico. His desire
to produce a tequila reminiscent of the flavors
and quality from their ancestors lead to the
creation of Fina Estampa.
We at the Fina
Estampa family are very proud of the quality
of our 100% agave tequilas with our unique bottle
that is labeled by hand and sealed with a genuine
wooden topped cork.

Fina Estampa
Blanco
Nose:
Peppery and vegetal, not too harsh and with
just the right amount of sass.
Taste:
Mellow and smooth up front with a black peppery
finish. It's not too dry or oily, and gives
a great, smooth finish with no burn. The overall
flavor is more complex than most blancos we've
tried (Including Patron...)
Verdict:
We generally like aged tequilas more than blancos,
because we like the oaky taste added during
the aging process. When it comes to Fina Estampa,
we were enamored with the fresh peppery taste
of this blanco, and we can see why people like
it so much. Not only that, we can honestly say
Fina Estampa has it all - great packaging, great
taste and a great buzz, all for a price that's
at least ten or fifteen dollars cheaper than
comparable tequilas we've tasted.

Fina Estampa Anejo
Nose:
Far less pepper, with more sherry
notes and even a whiskey back end, followed by a whiff
of smoke:
Taste:
This stuff is smokey, oily and
thicker, as though its time sitting in the oak cask
caused it to lose extra water that would impede the
flavor. There is a nice sweet burn on the finish,
and the smoke lasts for a good while after you swallow.
It's warm in all the right places and still has some
latent peppery flavor just to remind you of the blanco
it came from.
Verdict:
Good stuff, and definitely worth
a try for tequila enthusiasts. This is the kind of
bottle you sit down with when you're trying to work
your way through a complex problem in your life, then
finish the bottle without even thinking about it.
It's smooth and smokey and has a hint of mystery...and
it's a mystery we like all the way to the end. Drink
this guy straight or on the rocks, and don't forget
- slow and steady wins the race.

Spirit Journal Rating: *
* * * /Highly Recommended, Sept 2004
"The very pretty pale gold/pale straw
is flawlessly clean; the opening nosing passes
detect all sorts of lovely aromas, including
black pepper, sea brine, fennel and mint - six
more minutes of air contact have little impact
on the bouquet except for the addition of dill;
the palate entry is sweet, almost fruity/grainy
and ideally oily - at mid-palate, there's a
velvety feel on the tongue that underpins the
briny, of-dry, salty taste; finishes elegantly,
oily, and extremely pepper- and dill-like; a
terrific new reposado is now on the block."

"At first sniff,
Fina Estampa has a strong agave nose. At first
sip, you might even think--if you were blindfolded--that
you were tasting a silver. After the first swallow,
the world opens up to your taste buds.
Fruity, full-bodied, and
slightly smoky. The more I had, the more complicated
it seemed. Don't let its light golden color
fool you, either. There's a lot happening in
that snifter of Fina Estampa. This is certainly
not your average, run-of-mill reposado!
With a classic, hand-blown
bottle and elegant graphics on the box."
