The
history of Vinos y Viñedos Dominio Lasierpe
is the story of a town and its people, families
of wine growers who, generation after generation
since 1920, have worked the soil and cultivated
its fruits in order to produce traditional, natural
wines.
| Today,
Dominio Lasierpe is the winery with the
largest surface area and most diverse vineyards
in Navarre. Our facilities, along with exacting
investigative methods, have allowed us to
successfully achieve new enological formula
in the pursuit of fine winemaking.
The
Dominio Lasierpe vineyard is located in
a truly privileged geographic area, between
Bordeaux and Rioja. its 1.300 hectares of
clay and calcium carbonate soil are naturally
protected from the North winds. They are
outfitted with irrigation systems only usable
when the vines are dormant and which date
from the Roman and Arab eras.
The
struggle for water and for survival under
conditions considered harsh for vineyard
forces a more concentrated essence from
the grapes and brings together certain optimal
enological characteristics perfect for the
production of superior wines. |

The
wine-growing families of this land have
handed down to their children and grandchildren
the natural growing methods, the exhaustive,
daily control of each rootstock and wine
so that the fruit is in optimum condition
at harvest time, and the selection of
grapes in order to process them individually
according to factors of variety, origin,
weight, yield and climate conditions for
that year. The tradition continues leading
to balanced harvests and the production
of well-structured wines.
The
current bodega has modern facilities and
equipment, with stainless steel self-emptying
vats and American and French Oak barrels
which, along with the most advanced climate-controls
systems, achieves just the right atmosphere
for the production, ageing, storage and
repose of the wines.
The
union between tradition and nature in
all phases of production, from the cultivation
of the grapes to the harvesting, the vinification
and the modern techniques of research
and enological development, which consider
the treatment of the rootstocks as well
as the varietal composition, have all
given place to outstanding unique wines
which are natural, traditional and healthy. |
